The Owner

Lee imported a clean JB23 specifically to exploit the kei car’s tiny weight and dimensions where bigger trucks simply can’t fit.

Base Vehicle

2009 JB23W grey import with a sorted 660cc turbo, kept light and simple on purpose.

The Build

Suspension & Tyres

  • Modest lift to clear larger all-terrains
  • Extended breathers for water crossings

  • Sump and transfer-case guards
  • Compact rock sliders

Detail

  • Manual hubs serviced and freed off
  • Lightweight recovery kit only

The Story

On tight, technical British green lanes the Kei Crawler walks lines that defeat full-size 4x4s — the turbo triple keeps it lively, and there’s almost no weight to get stuck. Proof that small is mighty.

Next up: a rear locker to make the most of the light back end.
